Mexican side Tigres scored two objectives as the players from contradicting side Veracruz took to the streets during the opening minutes of their class game.
Veracruz were fighting over unpaid wages and held on as Tigres went 2-0 up, before proceeding to win 3-1.
“They realized that we were going to remain still for three minutes, it’s tragic,” said Veracruz protector Carlos Salcido.
Yet, Tigres’ Guido Pizarro stated: “They revealed to us they were going to stop only for a moment and after that it was three.”
He included: “We said we [Tigres] would just remain still for a moment.”
Veracruz are base of the table without a success in 13 games and their players wryly extolled their Tigres partners toward the finish of the game.
Tigres are third, three off the lead.
